Let’s discuss why porcelain pavers should be the feature of your next outdoor hardscaping project.
What are porcelain pavers made of and how are they made?
Porcelain Pavers are the newest trend in hardscaping design for residential homes because of their durability, design options, and eco-friendly materials. Porcelain pavers are made by baking a mixture of sand, clay, and other eco-friendly materials at extremely high temperatures. After the baking and cooling process, a design can be applied to the paver to match any natural stone material or design imaginable. Our beautifully designed porcelain pavers are manufactured in Italy.
Do porcelain pavers need to be sealed?
Unlike other natural stones, porcelain pavers are virtually maintenance-free and require no sealant to stay looking new. Since the baking process creates a non-porous material, porcelain pavers are mold and mildew resistant, stain-resistant, and anti-slip. This is one of the reasons why porcelain pavers for patios and around the pool should be chosen for your project.
Are porcelain pavers expensive?
At Porcelain Paver Center, our porcelain pavers range from $5.75/sq. foot to $7.00/sq. foot. In comparison to natural stone pavers which cost about $3.00/sq. foot to $5.00 sq. foot. Even though natural stone pavers may be less expensive to purchase, porcelain pavers will outlast natural stone pavers. Also, the cost of maintenance and repair over the lifetime of the stone pavers will make your initial investment in the porcelain pavers well worth it.
How are porcelain pavers installed?
Porcelain pavers can be installed using sand-set or mud-set methods. The sand-set method is the most economical method of installing any type of paver. In a sand-set installation, the dirt in the area where the pavers will be placed will be compacted. Then, a layer of course gravel will be placed. After a layer of 1-2 inches of sand needs to be spread over the layer of gravel. The pavers then are laid and tapped into the sand. After, additional sand is poured over and spread with a broom to fill the joints of pavers. The benefits of sand setting are that it’s easy to repair and has a low installation cost. The most innovative feature of our 3cm porcelain pavers is that they can be sand set for driveways and still withstand heavy loads. This will not only save you time but also money.
Should I choose 2cm or 3cm porcelain pavers?
At Porcelain Paver Center, our porcelain pavers come in two thicknesses options, 2cm and 3cm. Our 2cm porcelain pavers can be used for outdoor hardscaping projects like patios, outdoor kitchens, pool decks, and gardens because of the anti-slip feature and are about 10 degrees cooler than concrete. Our 3cm porcelain pavers are typically used for driveways and walkways because of their ability to withstand heavy loads without cracking or being damaged, anti-slip surface, and resistance to frost, mold, mildew, and stains.
All of our porcelain pavers are eco-friendly, anti-slip, maintenance-free, resistant to frost, mildew, mold, and stains. Contact Porcelain Paver Center to get your outdoor hardscape project started by emailing us at sales@porcelainpavercenter.com.
